The new year has kicked off and there are already some exciting events lined up, with more to come!
Check back here for details of latest festivals and talks.
I am delighted to say ONE has received some wonderful reviews since its launch in July, so here is a little selection below.
It has been a busy time with events since launch, and there are plenty more this autumn. Read on to find out where I’ll be, and I hope you can join me.
I’ve attended some fantastic crime festivals this year, including Bloody Scotland, Capital Crime & Newcastle Noir as well as my first international festival at Iceland Noir!
Such a great way to catch up with other authors and readers. You can see what I got up to here.
It’s been a busy start to the month with amazing reviews for Off Target in The Times and Prima Magazine, as well as the launch of the audiobook.
I am absolutely delighted that my debut, The Waiting Rooms, launches in Germany today under the title Der Letzte Weg (The Last Way).
I hope that the novel gets as much love from readers in Germany as it has in the UK, and I cannot wait to hear what people think!
Only one week to go until OFF TARGET launches into the big wide world in ebook! And it’s already available on all digital platforms for preorder now.
My latest speculative thriller is set in a near-future world where parents are prepared to take immeasurable risks to ensure their long-desired babies are perfect, altering genes that may cause illness, and more...
I am delighted to share with you the cover for my new speculative thriller, OFF TARGET, which will be published 17th February next year, and is available 17th December this year as an ebook.
An unthinkable decision
A deadly mistake
I am delighted to have been able to donate some signed copies of The Waiting Rooms to the hardworking volunteers at FareShare: an excellent charity that fights hunger and tackles food waste by redistributing surplus food to those who need it.
I was delighted to join eminent fellow writers M.R. Carey (The Girl with all the Gifts) and Stuart Turton (The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle) to discuss The Waiting Rooms and all things speculative and thriller with Tracy Fenton’s bookclub, Tracy Talks To… If you missed the event on Facebook, you can see the recording on Tracy’s blog here where you can also take a peek at previous interviews and reviews with loads of fabulous authors.
My interview with The Blood Brothers Podcast is now live, where I chat with wonderful fellow crime writers Rob Parker, author of the Ben Bracken thrillers, and Chris McDonald, author of the DI Erika Piper series, about The Waiting Rooms, publishing, pandemics, book covers and pretty well everything. Not forgetting, of course, their One Star Superstar where even the true literary greats are put through a public flogging via Amazon book reviews!
Calling all science enthusiasts & dystopian fiction lovers! Join us on Thursday Nov 19th, 8.00pm GMT for some Bad Bugs bookchat!
I will be discussing The Waiting Rooms (virtually) with the Bad Bugs Bookclub who are hosting a Twitter Q&A afterwards at 8.00pm which is open to all!
At last! The paperback of The Waiting Rooms will launch in the UK NEXT WEEK , on July 9th. For the US and other international markets, I’m afraid it’s a bit longer: October, but the limited edition, signed hardback is available right now from Goldsboro Books who ship!!
I do hope you can join me for the live Twitter Q&A at 6.30 BST on Thursday 9th. Not quite the cosy chat over wine at the glorious Goldsboro Books we had envisaged, but the good news is everyone can come, no matter where you live, and no matter what timezone! Just follow me @evecsmith & my wonderful host @annecater to join…
I am delighted to be one of 30 writers who’ve contributed to a collection of crime and mystery shorts to raise funds for the NHS. You can order the Noir From the Bar collection here.
